THERAPY AT YOUR DOOR STEP

When one speaks of professional mental help, the mind conjures up an image of an eloquently dressed up therapist, in a pricey glass-door setting, speaking to the client over coffee. Therapy seems to be inaccessible to those whose pockets are not able to cough up such a price. The entire middle-class population and students, let alone the underprivileged, thus face a blank wall when it comes to professional help.

WELCOMING THE EDUCATION POLICY 2020

After waiting for over six years, the Central Government has finally approved the new education policy on Wednesday (29th July, 2020). The policy was recommended by the committee which was headed by K. Kasturirangan.

WHAT MATTERS THE MOST?

What matters the most? Is it your looks? Is it the power, prestige or your image in the society? Is it your academic performance or profession? Is it your income and materialistic luxuries? Or Is it your loved ones?

Should the respect you have in society matter the most? Should the scores in your academics define you? Should the happiness bought from money define you? Should the unmatchable expectations of your partner depress you? Should you being a disappointment to your loved ones sadden you?

HOW TO EXCEL IN PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS

Public speaking is a very essential part of our lives. We all are asked to present power point presentations, participate in an extempore or give a simple speech, at least once in our lifetime.

Everyone starts slow. Not everyone is a born speaker. Personally, it took me two long years to figure out the tricks to excel in public speaking! Here are some of the tips and tricks that helped me excel in public speaking overtime:

HAS BOLLYWOOD EVER REALLY SUPPORTED THE LGBT COMMUNITY?

Before watching ‘Ek ladki ko dekha to Aisa laga’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan’, did you as an Indian ever think, that gay people exist and that they are no different than us? It’s most probably a no!

Bollywood in general and their films, in particular, have played a really important role to create an ideal and not-so-fickle image of a romantic couple in our fickle minds- a girl and a boy!

SHOULD SEX EDUCATION BE MADE COMPULSORY IN INDIA?

Any one of us who’s into American teen drama can very well relate to Sex Education being a compulsory subject in an average high school there. Then, why haven’t we introduced it in Indian schools yet?

WHY CHINA TRADE BAN IS A BAD IDEA?

The Indian Government in response to the border dispute with China is answering the guns on trade with latter. There is a wave of ‘Boycott Chinese Products’ in streets across whole India, but turning a border dispute into trade is an ill-advised move and on the contrary would only end in hurting our economy and its people.

10 MUST HAVES IN EVERY WOMAN’S CLOSET

What should I wear? I don’t have clothes.’ – every woman’s most uttered sentence.

The Start of each new season, new college semester, weekly parties, etc bring about a lot of Fashion decisions , like “What should I invest in?”, “What new trends are worth following?”and “How much should I spend?”. But instead of  picking random pieces that will probably go out of style by next year and spending lots of money, consider building a timeless capsule wardrobe and streamlining your closet.

CHINA UNNERVES HONG KONG

The National Security Law imposed by the Xi territory, containing 66 articles and more than 7000 words is conceived as a downright move to slash the civil liberties of the freedom-loving Hong-Kongers. The law, convened in secrecy without much disclosure, came into effect on 30th of June directing a driven aim against the anti-government protests rocking the state of Hong Kong since last year.

THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER

Author: Stephen Chboksy

Everyone has a different story in high school. Everyone travels through this unchartered territory of high school, dealing with first dates, family drama and new friendships in their way. There are so many books based on the same theme and plot even then Stephen Chbosky manages to stand out amongst the pile. Banned in many schools and libraries, ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower‘ portrays a bold and sensitive story about a boy who feels too much for his age and is trying to fit in.

LIFE LESSONS SHOWS BINGE

Shows and sitcoms have often been viewed as a sort of escapism for people from the real world- A means to put behind all that’s nagging them, relax, laugh and enjoy. However, there are also several people who view it with a negative perception, perhaps as a bad habit or a waste of time or some other opinion… While-YES-there are drawbacks to excessive watching.

ROME FASHION INDUSTRY

“Luxury is the ease of a T-shirt in a very expensive dress.” ―Karl Lagerfeld

Rome is one of the most important fashion hubs of the world. It has the headquarters of some of the major luxury houses like Valentino, Fendi, Bulgari, Brioni etc. It also houses the boutiques of luxury houses like Prada, Armani, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana etc.

MILAN FASHION INDUSTRY

What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language.” —Miuccia Prada

‘La bella figura’ is a concept widely considered the base of Italy’s culture. It translates to ‘beautiful figure’ which means to have a good impression. What is fashion without Gucci shoes and Moschino t shirts? Can you even listen to music without the mention of Prada? Which street-style fashion have you been following that doesn’t mention about Fendi? Haven’t  you  ardently thought of visiting Milan fashion shows?
