LIVING IN A SPACE OPERA UNIVERSE WITHOUT REALIZING IT

“Don’t Panic”, reads the cover of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Embrace this message while humming along to the Journey of the Sorcerer by The Eagles. In a parallel universe “an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea. Another problem exists: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time.”

DESIRE IS A ROCK

Sisyphus has finally neared the top. This is the end of one lifetime.

He has lost his ability to poetry about the struggle. Camus lied. The journey only fills a man’s heart but once.

Whatever he has ever desired is forever lost along the length of his nape. The mountain never was the longest distance.

He has the inability to pray.

AN EXISTENTIAL READING OF FRANKENSTEIN

“Every existent is born without reason, prolongs itself out of weakness and dies by chance.” – Jean-Paul Sartre.

Contrary to popular interpretation which has Frankenstein as merely a tale of a horrifying monster who provokes fear and causes harm, Mary Shelley, the author of the 1818 novel, had originally maintained the creature as a complex and multi-dimensional character.

RETHINKING CLEOPATRA & BOLEYN

Crippled by the burden of the womb, is a woman truly more limited than a man? Does the colour of ambition bloom on her and if that ambition does sprout, will it bud-like flowers slipping through cracks on washed-out walls or will she pile up as another man woman in the attic?

WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE FASHION AND ETHICAL FASHION ?

SUSTAINABLE FASHION is a movement and process of fostering change to fashion products and fashion system towards greater ecological integrity and social justice.

ETHICAL FASHION is an umbrella term to describe ethical fashion design, production, retail and purchasing. ENACTUS DYAL SINGH COLLEGE

Project Nawah

India is one of the biggest plastic polluters globally and stimulates an annual waste generation of over 15 million tons of plastic. Amidst the surging industrialization in the country, various towns and villages are being turned into dumping grounds by the developing stations. This curtails the scope of advancement, therefore, causing an increased scarcity of livelihood opportunities. The inhabitants are compelled to migrate to modern cities in search of employment.

PROJECT SNEH, ENACTUS MOTILAL NEHRU COLLEGE

In the past few years, we have seen the problems related to health and sanitation magnifying to a large extent, harming the living beings and nature itself. Majority of the country’s population has been inconsiderate and incautious about the constant rise in health issues and death rates. Inappropriate practises like open defecation, improper waste management and excessive use of plastic are still prevalent in our society.

PROJECT VIDYUT

Project Vidyut paves the way for a cleaner and more efficient future, reliant on renewable sources of energy by establishing biogas units which supply biogas to rural households and produce manure as a by-product. The simple aim behind this project was to provide an alternative source of energy, which is both environmentally friendly and offsets the high dependency on fossil fuels.

PROJECT AAHAR

Project Aahar was conceptualized with the philosophy of healthy and hygienic food for all. Through Aahar, we aim at providing a platform to migrant workers.

THERAPY AT YOUR DOOR STEP

When one speaks of professional mental help, the mind conjures up an image of an eloquently dressed up therapist, in a pricey glass-door setting, speaking to the client over coffee. Therapy seems to be inaccessible to those whose pockets are not able to cough up such a price. The entire middle-class population and students, let alone the underprivileged, thus face a blank wall when it comes to professional help.

10 MUST HAVES IN EVERY WOMAN’S CLOSET

What should I wear? I don’t have clothes.’ – every woman’s most uttered sentence.

The Start of each new season, new college semester, weekly parties, etc bring about a lot of Fashion decisions , like “What should I invest in?”, “What new trends are worth following?”and “How much should I spend?”. But instead of  picking random pieces that will probably go out of style by next year and spending lots of money, consider building a timeless capsule wardrobe and streamlining your closet.

LIFE LESSONS SHOWS BINGE

Shows and sitcoms have often been viewed as a sort of escapism for people from the real world- A means to put behind all that’s nagging them, relax, laugh and enjoy. However, there are also several people who view it with a negative perception, perhaps as a bad habit or a waste of time or some other opinion… While-YES-there are drawbacks to excessive watching.
