
According to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) can be defined as “a management concept whereby companies integrate both social and environmental concerns in their business operations and interactions with shareholders“. In simple words, CSR represents all those activities that are performed by a business to contribute to various social, environmental, and economic aspects of society. This can be understood as a ‘symbiotic relationship’- a business acts to benefit the society in return for extracting and exploiting its resources for its economic interests.
